1.  Who owns the Resorts?
Prime Retirement & Aged Care Property Trust (Prime Trust). For further information contact our website at

2.  How much will my new home cost me?
Our homes vary in design, size and position. Prices range from $150,000.00 to the high $300,000.00. 

3.  Is my home going to be refurbished prior to settlement?
Yes, your home will receive a Prime Trust makeover by our interior designers which will include a combination of tiles and carpet, down lights, new kitchen and bathroom, appliances, painting and landscape works in the front and back yards. Harmony, durability, style and function are our paramount concerns. 

4.  What is the difference between Leasehold and Freehold?
In leasehold, the lessee acquires an interest in the land only and does not pay any stamp duty. Your interest is registered with the Government. 

In Freehold, the purchaser acquires the land interest and pays stamp duty and your name is on the title.
Both types have the right of occupancy for 90 years. Both are acceptable to lawyers.

5.  What does it mean by Non-Participating & Participating lease? 
In a Non-Participating Lease, the lease holder does not benefit from any capital gain of the unit.
In a Participating Lease, the lease holder participates in the capital gain of the unit for a 10% increase to the purchase price. 

6.  Do the Prime Trust resorts operate under the Retirement Villages Act?
Absolutely! We would not imagine any retirement resort not having the Retirement Villages Act overseeing the operations of that resort.  

7.  Will we have a Medical Alert system?
Yes, there is a Medical Alert system provided at Argyle Gardens. You can arrange your own at any Resort, if required. 

8.  What happens if I wish to leave my Prime Trust resort?
The home is sold and the proceeds, minus certain exclusions as per your lease, revert back to you or your Estate.

9.  What does the General Service Fee cover?
The General Service Fee covers the costs of operating and maintaining the services and facilities that you will enjoy within your resort.

The Fee covers, but is not limited to: rates, building insurance, maintenance, gardening of common areas, community hall and recreation and entertainment facilities, and of course, administrative, operational staffing costs, and a 24 hour medical emergency call system 

10. What facilities are provided within the resorts?
Each resort boasts its own Resort Manager, community hall, games room, bar, library and much much more!
Outdoors there are BBQ facilities, swimming pool, community gardens.
 

11. Are my special needs taken into account?
Yes. Our resorts have been designed and are run for the over 55’s seeking the lifestyle you deserve in a special community designed for you!
 

12. Do you provide meals?
Yes, at Argyle Gardens there is a dining room located at Argyle Lodge. Meal tickets can be purchased at the office for both Lunch and Dinner.
 

13. What are the activities?
There is a huge range of activities available in every Prime Trust Resort.

A sample of some of the more popular are snooker, indoor bowls, cards, craft, bingo, tai chi, just to name a few. You are completely free to retain any interests and activities in which you are already involved or to take advantage of anything that appeals to you within your Resort.

The choice is always yours! 

14. Who looks after my Garden?
You are responsible for your front and back garden. The Resort Gardeners look after all common area gardens and mowing of lawns. This arrangement may vary depending on the resort you choose. 

15. Am I allowed to bring my pet?
Yes, approved pets are allowed in our resorts.  In the event permission is granted, the permission will be deemed to automatically lapse upon the death of the specified pet.  

16. Are family and friends allowed to stay and for how long?
Of course, it’s your home – visitors are allowed to stay for three weeks. Beyond three weeks, it’s not a problem, though you must notify the Resort Manager of the additional time frame – this is simply for security reasons.
Your family and friends are welcome to come visit you at any time and they are welcome to use the facilities at our resorts, as long as a resident accompanies them.

After all, whatever Prime Trust resort you choose, it’s your home and we encourage you to use it that way.  

17. What happens if I want to travel?
You are free to come and go as  you please.

If traveling for any length of time, just let the Resort Manager know where to send your mail – and pack up, lock up and have a great time!
